The art of lapidary and jewelry making lends to the use of many different materials, leather and natural stone beads of all shapes and sizes, are incorporated into many of our creations. This "hand-carved" leather Heather feather necklace is "upcycled" from old leather and embelished with hand-stitched beading.
The hand-cut leather with it's feathery detail is embelished with hand-stiched beading of faceted pyrite, African brass beads and natural bright turquoise heishi. The soft and pliable buckskin toned feather hangs from thick disc of metal with just the right patina on a double strand of brain-tanned leather lace and African brass beads on their original cotton twine. The two strands are knotted together in back, just slip it over the head and go, with just a little extra turquoise beading for some detailed dangle in the back. With cowboy boots, moccasins, heels or flip flops, this unique necklace ties in watever your mood may be!
Necklace measures approx. 28 inches around. Feather measures 5.75 inches long and approx. 2 inches wide, Turquoise charms hang from back approx. 4 & 5 inches.
